About Guest Speaker Assemblyman Joe Patterson:
Assemblyman Joe Patterson and his wife Colleen understand the challenges facing today’s families as they work to raise their four young children. That’s what propelled Joe to get involved in public service and eventually run for Rocklin City Council, serve as Mayor of Rocklin, and then run for the California State Assembly in District 5.
Elected to the Assembly in November 2022 with over 60% of the vote, Joe represents Placer and El Dorado counties.
He was selected as Assembly Vice Chair of both the Housing and Community Development Committee as well as Privacy and Consumer Protection. He also sits on the Committees for Aging and Long-Term Care; Health; Budget; Budget Subcommittee 5 on State Administration; Insurance; and Utilities and Energy. He was chosen to sit on the Joint Committee for Emergency Management, and the Select Committees for Wildfire Prevention; and Fentanyl, Opioid Addiction, and Overdose Protection, for which he has a profound sense of passion to forward meaningful legislation after his neighbor’s child was murdered by a fentanyl overdose.
Joe’s top priority is to make our community a better place to live, work and raise a family.
